From Waste to Worth: A Better Tree Removal Solution
Almost all tree removal operations in Texas end with the entire biomass of a tree being chipped or hauled to the landfill - costing clients more and contributing to environmental waste and the unnecessary environmental release of valuable sequestered carbon stored within these trees. But through our collaboration with Wilder Tree Service, we're changing that model entirely and striving for change.
In a perfect world, when we remove a tree, we focus on upcycling the material for its best and highest value. The lowest value for this material is chips/mulch or firewood. The highest value for this material is lumber which can be transformed into more permanent forms to maintain the sequestered carbon for decades, if not, centuries into the future. If tree access allows for it, we are able to transport and upcycle the logs directly at our facility in Dripping Springs, where we process them into high-quality lumber, slabs, and custom wood products. The result? A major reduction in landfill waste, a reduction in disposal fees, fewer hours of labor for tree crews, and a more affordable, sustainable option for homeowners and property managers.
Safety, care, and consideration go into every removal.
Why This Partnership Matters
Lower Costs for Homeowners
By eliminating chipping and disposal, this partnership allows Wilder to offer more competitive pricing on tree removals. It’s efficient, economical, and better for everyone involved.Reduced Environmental Impact
Trees that would otherwise be discarded are now salvaged and repurposed—preserving their stored carbon, keeping material out of landfills, and supporting Texas’s circular economy.Local Craftsmanship with a Story
The logs we rescue aren’t just timber—they’re the beginning of a new chapter. Many go on to become heirloom-quality furniture, architectural elements, and commercial features made right here in Central Texas.Sentimental & Historical Value
We’ve had the honor of being part of some truly meaningful projects—where trees weren’t just part of the landscape, but part of a family’s story. Many of these removals connect to memories spanning multiple generations, and we treat that history with the respect it deserves.

At Texas Urban Sawmill, we take pride in helping Texans turn lost trees into lasting value. And thanks to this partnership, we can do that more efficiently and effectively than ever before.
